2026 FIP Bronze Marnes victoire Jérémy Robert et Olivier Guy de Chamisso

Jérémy Robert and Olivier Guy de Chamisso weren’t the favourites going into this competition. Far from it – ranked 16th in the tournament, who could have predicted such a performance? It’s true that they benefited from the withdrawal of the No. 1 and No. 2 seeds, but they still had to pull it off. And pull it off they did!

However, it could all have come to an end in the first round against Nathan Courrin and Thomas Seux, against whom they had to save a match point in the second-set tie-break before finally winning 4–6, 7–6, 6–3.

They then went on a winning streak, knocking out the No. 8 seed, the No. 11 seed and, in the semi-finals, the No. 4 seed. That final match against Juan Zamora Perez and Alejandro Garcia Calahorro could well have proved their undoing, as they lost the first set 6–2. But an Olivier at the top of his game managed to carry his team, preventing the ship from sinking in the storm. Baptiste Bénétoux, coach at the CNE in Vichy, played his role to the full, finding the right words to spur on Jérémy, who was struggling at the start of the match. And thanks to some real teamwork, our two young French players, supported by their coach, managed to turn the match around and qualify for the final in three sets: 2–6, 7–6, 6–1.

Jérémy and Olivier went from strength to strength throughout the competition, reaching their peak form for the final and leaving their opponents, Nicolas Zurita and Samuel Rivas Garcia, with no chance to win. It was a perfectly controlled final, won in 52 minutes of play with a score of 6–3, 6–4.
