Frustrating victory... but a victory nonetheless. By winning the P1000 at My Center Palavas, Thomas Basso and Jérémy Robert clinched their first P1000 title together.
The weekend got off to a perfect start: solid and confident, the two players racked up victories with a convincing level of play, combining intensity, consistency and physical power.
In the semi-finals, they had to fight hard to defeat Paul Forichon and Charles Gortzounian. It took three hard-fought sets to secure their place in the final.
The final match promised to be an interesting one against a formidable pair: Benjamin Tison, undefeated on the French circuit since his return, partnered with Nathan Perrot, who was in great form. Unfortunately, this eagerly awaited match did not take place: injured on the last point of his semi-final, Benjamin had to withdraw as a precaution.
It was an abrupt end, but it did not detract from the satisfaction of Jérémy and Thomas, who are now on a roll.
